Nauvoo House

 Planned as a large hotel, the Nauvoo House was situated in front of a steamship port. The building was never completed.  After most of the Mormons had abandoned Nauvoo, Emma Smith's new husband Lewis Bidamon built her a house on the corner of the Nauvoo House foundation. Emma Smith Bidamon lived the last years of her life in this house, where she died in 1879.
