Nauvoo Mansion House
RLDS tour guides escort visitors into Joseph Smith's restored Mansion House. Joseph moved Emma and their children into this beautiful two-story home in 1842. Upon the completion of the main house, Smith launched the building of a hotel wing off of the east side. A number of boarders lived in the hotel wing, including Eliza R. Snow, Emily & Eliza Partridge and Maria & Sarah Lawrence…five ladies who eventually were numbered among Joseph's polygamous wives.
